Teeth Cleaning Adelaide
Teeth Cleaning
Bacteria and food naturally collect on all surfaces of the teeth and surrounding gum line which can either be a soft or a hard build up. Brushing your teeth can remove some of this build up but not all of it, especially under the gum line. This can lead to problems with the gums and bones which hold the teeth in the mouth. If this buildup (bacterial infection) is left long enough, it may even cause the loss of teeth. Common signs of this is yellow buildup on teeth, smelly breath and red, puffy or bleeding gums.
Professionally cleaning your teeth is a comfortable way to remove all of the soft and hard bacterial build up that regular tooth brushing can’t get to. Each person has a varied level of bacterial infection, so the amount of cleaning that is required changes between patients.
First our dentist or dental hygienist will check the amount of build up and measure the extent of the bacterial infection. The surfaces of the teeth are then cleaned above and below the gum line, leaving the teeth clean, fresh and infection free. This will allow the gums to heal, becoming pink and healthy once again.
We know that most people brush their teeth regularly, but we like to make sure that you are doing it correctly, aren’t missing any spots and using your cleaning time to maximise effectiveness. Our hygiene team will help guide you with tips and tricks of accessing tricky areas that may be trapping buildup.
